Geico Gecko Eaten

The often adorable Geico Gecko was unexpectedly eaten today during filming of one of the latest commercials.

"We were trying to get an Owl to swoop down, pick him up and fly him over an interstate.  We had no idea that owl's were one of the Gecko's natural enemies.  This is truly tragic.", said director Hans Mitten.

There are no remains but there will be a small ceremony with snacks of some kind.

Ha! I came this close [] to working for Geico's local general counsel's office several years ago. You would not believe their onerous pre-employment screenings! The drug test included a trip to some lab in a sketchy part of town to give a hair sample. Before all of the pre-employment screening was done, I had received another job offer, so I said "Cheerio" to Geico.
