I was going to call this post "Facebook Friday" - but then people wouldn't necessarily read it.
I've been cleaning up my Facebook - getting rid of the *hundreds* of people I added for Mob Wars. Most of them are just dead weight. Then I removed all the little nonsense applications like "snowballs" and "snowball globes" and "christmas trees" and "snowball trees" and "snowball globe trees" - can't their just be ONE? Good grief!
[Side Note - That reminds me of something - and I'm sure one of you will have a good answer for this. I was watching the news and some lady was standing next to an 18 wheeler trailer saying "Yes, we just don't have a lot of toy donations this year - it really hurts - we really need the help!" - and she's like part of "Toys for Kids who don't have presents" or something. Then in the next five minutes, they show a warehouse and a lady says "We just don't have a lot of donations this year!" and she's with Toys for Tots. I've got an idea! Let's just have Toys for Tots and give all the toys to them. Then instead of five agencies having only a few donations, we could have ONE agency with moderate donations? I mean, is it just me that notices that?]
After I cleaned up my neighborhood and removed all my non-friends and removed applications I really don't play, I was left with still a rather generous group of people - many of which were added for games but I don't recall and I'd have to go through them one at a time. I also have family and Vox friends. What's the big deal? I'll tell you. Once you take away the applications and the people, Facebook returns to this odd "thing" where people seek you out and add you. People you maybe didn't like in school. I only kept up with a few people even when I was IN school - and most of them aren't even on FB. Today as I was cleaning up, I looked at one friend (from school) and in his neighborhood I saw people from my high school and I looked at their pages. I don't recall really talking to these people then. One of them had the tag line "Don't beat me up - I voted for McCain!" - nice. My brain hurts. I already removed all of my personal info which means it isn't so much a "facebook" but more of a game place - except I don't play all that many games there - just Scrabble and The Dot Game (the one where you each draw a line and make boxes? - Yeah, apparently it's catching back on).
Every once in a while, I evaluate what I'm doing and have to tell myself to "Stop doing that" on a lot of diversions.
This morning, I got up early and took some junk out of the living room and put it in the garage. I needed to make room for the Christmas tree and boxes of junk just aren't really Christmas-y. Jamie asked why I was doing it right then, and it was because when I get home it's always dark and cold so I thought I'd take advantage of the light - plus it was about 65 degrees. I made about five trips and took everything out. Then when I was sitting in the kitchen a few minutes later - it starts POURING outside. It already rained ALL day yesterday. I opened the front door when Nathan was leaving and it was like 45 degrees! I'm glad I got my work done early.
Tree tonight, probably some Christmas shoppiing this weekend. Some big Obama volunteer meeting tomorrow. Nathan has a piano recital on Sunday. I think that's about it.
Have a great weekend!

Did you see The Office last night? I think that was one of the funniest shows I've seen in a while. I don't know what was funnier - Jim trying to get away or watching the interaction between Jan and Michael.
I just ordered a DVD. I don't buy a lot of DVD's. I get them as gifts sometimes but every once in a while I splurge. I think I'm going to start buying one DVD every two weeks or so until I get caught up on a few that I've always wanted. Today, I purchased Head Office.
This is a funny, funny movie that I remember watching over and over a LONG time ago. It didn't wasn't available on DVD last time I check, so when I saw that it finally was, I had to get it. The movie has an excellent cast and it's all about a new young executive at a big company. It isn't TOO unlike Office Space - but it's completely different all at the same time and with people like Father Guido Sarducci as the limo driver - well, you really can't go wrong.
It's going to be 80 degrees today - after about five solid days of rain - this is going to be quite welcome. I have a ton of stuff to do at the house this weekend including a little spring cleaning, mowing grass, working on the pool, and getting the new garden under way.
Here's the latest from Basic Instructions:
Have a fantastic day!!!
Zapeta said, "No." He wanted all his money. He'd earned it, he said.
Now, according to Gershman, the Internal Revenue Service wants access to the donated cash to cover taxes on the donations and on the money Zapeta made as a dishwasher. Zapeta admits he never paid taxes.

An elementary school class started a class project to make planters to take home to their parents.
They wanted to have a plant in it that was easy to take care of, so they decided to use cactus plants.
The students were given green-ware pottery planters in the shape of clowns which they painted with glaze.
The clown planters were professionally fired at a class outing so they could see the process.
It was great fun!
They planted cactus seeds in the finished planters and they grew nicely, but unfortunately, the children were not allowed to take them home.
The cactus plants were removed and small ivy replaced them and the children were then allowed to take them home instead.
The teacher said cactus seemed like a good idea at the time!
